Kate Beckinsale BIO

After appearing in some smaller films such as Shooting Fish and The Last Days of Disco in 1998, Kate Beckinsale (born July 26th, 1973) starred in the film Brokedown Palace in 1999 opposite Claire Danes.  Although the film did not make many waves at the box-office, she did grab the attention of Hollywood.  She would star opposite John Cusack in the romantic comedy Serendipity (2001) and the Michael Bay directed blockbuster film Pearl Harbor (2001) opposite Ben Affleck and Josh Hartnett.  It would be 2003's Underworld that would have the most impact on her life as she would not only be the lead in this box-office hit, but wound up marrying her director, Len Wiseman.  Kate Beckinsale went on to star in several high-profile movies such as Van Helsing (2004) with Hugh Jackman, The Aviator (2004) with Leonardo Dicaprio and Click (2006) with Adam Sandler.  She would reprise her vampire role as Selene in 2006's Underworld: Evolution and scare audiences in the 2007 horror film Vacancy.  Kate Beckinsale continued to be one of Hollywood's busiest actors as she starred in the haunting Winged Creatures (2008), the drama Nothing But the Truth (2008) the thriller Whiteout (2009) and the drama Everybody's Fine (2009).  Kate Beckinsale will next be seen in the fourth installment of the Underworld film franchise expected sometime in 2011.
